Stane is a band that originated in London, Ontario, Canada, in 1977. The group's original lineup featured William Comrie on guitars, Frank O'Rourke on bass and vocals, John O'Rourke on drums, and Martin Thomson, who joined in 1979, contributing keyboards, guitars, and vocals, alongside Gerry TerHorst, who joined in 1980 on guitars. In the summer of 1982 the band went into 20/20 Studios in London to record the 5 tracks that would become the "Everybody Likes To Dream EP" (released to streaming services in 2021).

From 1987 to 1994, the lineup consisted of William Comrie, Martin Thomson, and vocalist Sally Jones. During this period the band recorded the tracks that would make up the "One Heartbeat EP" (released to streaming services in 2021).

In 2022 the band re-formed with the current lineup consisting of William Comrie, Martin Thomson, vocalist Katrina Thomson, and drummer Pete Comrie.
