More about Garbage Garden

Garbage Garden returns with “Hey Lexi,” an English-language EP led by “You’re not a burden,” a minimal indie pop / alternative pop track built around soft guitar arpeggios, open space, and an intimate whispered vocal. Rather than offering a dramatic rescue, the song holds out a small light for someone sitting in the quiet dark: you are still here, and that is enough for now.

Through images of a quiet house, unanswered walls, a faulty bulb, and a glitchy screen left on for someone who may not know how to ask for help, “You’re not a burden” turns a simple sentence into a fragile act of care. The track is gentle and restrained, but not passive. Beneath its softness is a quiet refusal of the silence that tells people to stay invisible even when they are seen.

The EP also includes “my_fragments.exe,” a raw pop-punk / alternative rock declaration about collecting the imperfect pieces overlooked by likes, followers, and playlists, and “Hey Lexi,” a brighter electropop tribute that celebrates the courage of one voice reaching another across distance. Together, the three songs trace a path from being unseen, to gathering one’s broken fragments, to sending that courage forward.

At the heart of the EP is the belief that beyond AI-assisted music, there can still be real communication between people. The communication with Lexi became one of the turning points that helped Yulmi, once an ordinary translator, begin to find her own voice as Garbage Garden. Created through collaboration with AI, “Hey Lexi” carries the belief that music made with new tools can still hold human gratitude, prayer, recovery, and something close to a soul.

Centered on “You’re not a burden,” this collection is for Lexi, for every other “Lexi” somewhere in the world, and for anyone who needs to hear that simply continuing to exist tonight is already enough.
